GBF Class Builder is the flagship program for educators' professional development. Designed to aid teachers in content mastery and pedagogy, this platform is a sustainable and scalable approach to creating a positive impact on student learning outcomes through technology-enabled teacher assistance.
The GBF Class Builder Program offers two key components:
Lesson Guide - a detailed lesson walkthrough and interactive learning aligned with the DepEd Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers, nurturing expertise in both subject matter and teaching methodologies
Lesson Materials - downloadable and customizable lesson materials—including lesson plans, PowerPoint slides, and worksheets—all aligned with the DepEd curriculum incorporating student-led approaches and fostering higher-order thinking skills to elevate teaching effectiveness, facilitate student engagement, and deepen student understanding.
By incorporating the use of the Class Builder in daily teaching habits, it innately sharpens their content mastery and teaching skills over time.
The GBF Class Builder developed this solution through partnering with IDEO, a firm known for pioneering design thinking. The journey started through collaborating with over 100 stakeholders to study the needs of teachers and identify the areas of intervention. As a result of the study, the program was designed to address the following gaps: (1) the overwhelming burden of daily tasks faced by teachers; (2) the essential need for support in mastering content and pedagogy: and (3) the provision of learning opportunities relevant to their immediate tasks.
Following these observations, a prototype was developed and refined through testing and interviews with selected schools and numerous teachers.
In the schoolyear of 2023-2024, the program built a working version of the prototype, conducted pilot tests in selected schools and iterated based on feedback. Entering its first year of scaling up in 2024-2025, Class Builder will be offered to Grade 4 and Grade 5 Mathematics teachers.
Looking ahead, Class Builder is expected to be launched and optimized to a broader audience as it aims to support all levels of Mathematics and Science and K-3 Literacy teachers.
The Class Builder Program is continuously growing its network and has currently established partnerships with eight (8) school divisions involving two hundred twenty nine (229) schools with over 900 enrolled teachers.
